Hugh de Morville
For those interested in the historic facts about the founder of Dryburgh Abbey, this book by Sir David is the most factual book I have read. Sir David was the Comendator of the Abbey during which time he carried out a significant amount of work in restoration work on the abbey. His work included the unearthing of the sarcophagi of the de Morvilles and their reburial. It is a book full of fact about local people and facts of the time, perhaps not as well written a more professional historical writers but full of facts.
